This vintage was woven by the elders of the village of Ait Tigga.

Aït Tigga is located about 29km east of Anzal. Anzal is home to a female weaving association that has many family ties to the village of Aït Tigga. Up until a year ago the only way to travel to Aït Tigga was via an off-road route. With their lack of access to the outside world they would usually send their finished rugs to the women of Anzal to sell.

This rug style has a few different names; Golden Fingers, Kharita ("map" in Arabic) or Tazenakht. This complex weaving technique consists of a labyrinthine of geometric shapes that has the same design on both sides which allows this rug to be reversible.

Woven with 100% live sheep’s wool, the colors are created with natural vegetables and spice blends - ingredients like henna, pomegranate skin, saffron, indigo and mint to name a few.

This Flatweave is incredibly strong and will withstand the test of time.
